Filming/audio recording of sessions and handouts

If possible, video and/or audio recordings of each workshop and presentation would be great, even if these are just short highlights of the best moments. Also, handouts from all the sessions in the conference pack would be very handy.

Audio recordings of Council meetings on website

Could there be some discussion on the issues involved in uploading recordings of Council meetings on the website, eg privacy, editing of the recording prior to uploading, no "parliamentary privilege" protection for councillors and staff, councils' liability as the publisher, recommended timeframes for uploading and removing, records management of recordings, prevention of a recording being modified once downloaded etc.

When and should we use survey's

We have been tossing up on the idea of using survey's on several different matters. EG - Website improvements, Department Satisfaction, How can we improve ect? There are several different systems that can do this, Survey monkey being one of the best ones I have used. If other people think this would be interesting, it would be good even just as a discussion to find out how we should be using these.

How to optimise photos for web display and short download time
building a scenic collage for web page display - keeping in mind download time and large file sizes. Taking good digital photos with correct light requirements - Creating a local (Offline) gallery of stock photos - walking, walking with dogs, biking with local backdrops, recreational/sporting facilites, schools etc. Ideal and consistant photo sizes, presentation of images like watermarks, cropping (there could be lots to cover or just a quick overview - there may be too many software programs out there to cover all this in one session).
Creating an animation where an image fades into the next image.
Images just make a page more interesting to view.

Looking at new social media and how that is changing behaviour in different demographics, eg, people over 55 are now 34 % and rising in our city, while the 15 to 25 age group is largely unvoiced. Can we use social media /web 2.0 technologies to talk with these groups.

Social media - the good, the bad and the ugly

I am interested in hearing from those councils who have taken the plunge and used social media. The senior exec are often frightened of using this medium due to it's uncontrollable nature however I think there is a lot to be gained especially with event promotion and possibly even consultation. I want to hear from those who have had success and also the horror stories.

Open Source, LocGov2.0 And You

If anyone is interested I would like to do a presentation on the Open Source Tools available to aid in the development of LocGov2.0 type services and products.

Just off the top of my head, I'm thinking it should cover Content Management Systems, Emerging Social Networking packages, Instant Messaging, WebConference packages and so on.
